Hallowe'en Costumes

It's Labor Day weekend, therefore we went shopping for Hallowe'en costumes. When I was a girl, my mother made us commit to our Hallowe'en costumes by Labor Day weekend. That gave her two months to make them, which was sometimes necessary if she had a full travel schedule. I don't travel like she does, but the children certainly keep me busy so I've continued the tradition. We went to JoAnn's yesterday (the only practical and local source for fabric around here) and bought patterns and fabric. M is going to be a black and purple witch, and E is going to be a pink fairy. I started cutting things out last night.
My current intent is to work on their things a bit every night...if they're good during the day. It's always advantageous to have something to hold over children's heads. I still want my dress to progress, but it will be slower while I'm working on their stuff too. And I might throw together a pair of black wool pants for myself as long as I've got the machine threaded with black for M's dress.
