I finally managed to take a picture of my first 18th century stocking. It is hand-knit with lace-weight merino wool and has tulip clocks at the ankle. I'm about a third of the way through with the second stocking, and it is coming along well.

It's really just round and round and round we go...about 480 times per stocking! Actually, it's so mindless that I've done most of the knitting on this project while reading.
