Draft First, Make Lace After

I finally drafted the combinations that all this tatted lace is for. And I found that I had missed a critical marking on the ruffle for the drawers legs - “cut double” - so my yard of lace is not enough. I had already decided I wasn’t in love with the ruffle idea so I drafted the longer length legs. They are a yard and a quarter along the lower edges so I had to lengthen the lace for the legs by only a quarter yard - seven pattern repeats - each. I finished the second one last night. Now I’m back to just neck and sleeves to make. I did the first repeat and a half of that last night, and it seems like it will go quickly.

Maybe that will teach me to pattern first.

Definitely annoying to find out that you're not done with something you thought you were done with. I'm glad it only took a few days to finish each piece.

Fortunately I had left a foot of thread when I cut it off so it was easy to join on. I still have to weave in a few ends, but it really wasn't hard.
