I washed and blocked my late Victorian openwork stocking. It's a little short in the leg, but it still fits through the foot. I'm going to go back and add about an inch of ribbing on this one and will just do extra ribbing on the mate when I make it. I know 2" of ribbing wasn't the thing, but I can't go back and add another inch of pattern while I can add another inch of ribbing.

The Knit Picks Curio has been working pretty well for these. It's not super fluid, but it's not nearly as hard as the Aunt Lydia's cotton.

I definitely have several projects that have extra ribbing on them for exactly this reason. :) But hey, maybe it will help them stay up better, as well!

It's great to hear your feedback about Curio! I'll have to try it for my next fine cotton project.
