1940's Slip
May. 21st, 2019 05:41 amIt's very definitely not exciting, but I made a 1940's slip. Ginger loaned me the pattern a few years ago, and I finally got around to using the copy I made of it. (No, I haven't had her pattern this whole time.) It's silk charmeuse and bound with silk ribbon on the top. I misread something somewhere along the line so I only bought two yards of 36" fabric. I'm short (well, at least definitely not tall) so I was able to shorten it by a couple of inches so I didn't have a ton of piecing to do, but there was some. I also used ribbon for the straps instead of the fabric since I was going to bind the top with ribbon instead of seam binding.
Lousy picture, but it proves it exists.
