1900's Shirtwaist
Feb. 22nd, 2019 07:25 pmIn a continuing effort to catch up on things I did last year but never posted...
I made a shirtwaist out of a satin-striped cotton lawn for Costume College last year. I used the Wearing History Edwardian era blouse pattern with the high round neck and 3/4-length sleeves. The only alteration I made was to take in the collar. The neck on the bodice seemed good, but the collar stood out from my neck quite a bit so I took in the top.
I used a combination of machine and hand-sewing since I did a chunk of the work while I was on business travel last July.
