I Bought a Ticket

I bought a ticket for the Archery and Jane Austen event today so I'm officially going. I've got a third of my tambour embroidery done so I should have the dress finished this week and still have three weeks left to make a bonnet. I'm not going to win any awards with my embroidery, but I think it's fair enough.



Now here's hoping there will be something else going on after the event that I can join in on. It would make the drive more worthwhile.

Archery and Jane Austen??? OMG, I'm burning with jealousy over here!!! I have an 1820's archery gown in the works and not enough things to bring it to!

I think it will be a good time. Of course, I haven't held a bow since I was a girl, and I wasn't good at it then, but it should be fun nonetheless.

Yay!!! I'm so happy that you are coming! At the very least you can come over to my house and hang out, but maybe we can convince some people to do something else costume-y. We could go out for a Regency dinner that night, go to a historical site in costume (even if it's the wrong era), go to the Arboretum for pictures and whatever, or there is also a big vintage market that day called Loot that we could go to (after we change clothes). There's also an Irish festival going on that day. I'm open to suggestions, but I'd love to make more of a day of it.

I'm game for pretty much anything, though I particularly like the idea of a Regency dinner. I'm planning to stay the night, though I think I should make my arrangements for accommodation a little earlier this time!

I won't be able to make a day of it - I have to get home after the wonderful morning and lunch to pay the babysitter (my husband is volunteering at the Gaelic League's booth for Irish Festival, so our original deal got kind of scrapped, heh).
