Plenty of Yarn

I posted a few weeks ago about my concern that I didn't have enough white yarn for the 1930's bathing suit I'm making. I'm happy to say that I've finished knitting the body of the suit, and I have yarn to spare. I still have straps and the top edge to knit, but there are only two more rows of white. Unless I have to massively rework things. (I don't think I will, but I haven't actually pinned it together to try it on yet.)

Did you use a pattern or did you just take some needles and head off into the great unknown? Will there be pictures (not salacious, curious as to look and design, you can show it being blocked, it doesn't have to be on a person)?

It's sometimes the end of the year before I realize I didn't post some finished project. I might be going to the beach over the summer and will probably try to get pictures then.
