Third Piece Finished

I finished the third piece of my 17th century knitted waistcoat yesterday.



Two pieces to go.

It may not be wise to leave the largest piece for the last, but it makes more sense to make the mirror of the piece I just finished before making a different piece. The current estimate is that this project will be finished next summer.

It's so fun to see it coming along piece by piece. Such a different process than sewing.

Knitting is very different from sewing. It always feels like such an accomplishment to finish a big piece.

Thank you. I don't know how much is determination and how much is a high tolerance for low-thought repetition. I can't quite call it tedium because I'm not finding it tedious at all.

There is too much pattern to be tedious, I should think.

That is certainly true for me. This waistcoat has been rather like knitting a giant pinball.
