Cross-stitching Progress

I didn't do a lot of cross-stitching this week. My husband was watching Stranger Things most of the week, and it's really not my thing so I read instead. The thread that was partially done in last week's picture wasn't finished until Saturday night.

Even though the setting looks very Victorian or New England-y, I am getting some Jane Austen vibes from the (what looks like a) couple standing by the bridge. Also, it sort of looks like there's a wiener dog running toward the water, but that seems unlikely. Maybe a rabbit, maybe a branch, maybe just a shadow/dark spot.

I love hearing your guesses. One of the great things about cross-stitching is that you get to watch the picture slowly emerge, but you already know what the picture is so you can see things before they're really interpretable. It's fun to hear what it looks like from someone who doesn't already know what it is.
