I finished the second purse I've made from The New Bead Book published in 1924. This one is actually a crochet pattern, but I converted it to knitting because I don't crochet. The pattern is wrong so I had to rework the Greek key pattern at the bottom to make it go evenly into the same number of stitches as the fleur de lis figures.

1924 Fleur se Lis Knitted Purse

I knitted it in the round all the way to the top, and it has a spring close clasp at the top so that it didn't have to be slit down the sides. It's knit with silk beading cord with glass seed beads and lined with a pale green silk taffeta. The fringe at the bottom has 2.5" of beads in each twist. It was cool to do but took rather longer than I expected.

This purse has about 7500 beads in it so it's much lighter than the Elizabethe purse I made out of the same book last year. The finished size is 6"x8".
