1924 Beaded Fleur de Lis Purse

atherleisureI finished the second purse I've made from The New Bead Book published in 1924. This one is actually a crochet pattern, but I converted it to knitting because I don't crochet. The pattern is wrong so I had to rework the Greek key pattern at the bottom to make it go evenly into the same number of stitches as the fleur de lis figures.
I knitted it in the round all the way to the top, and it has a spring close clasp at the top so that it didn't have to be slit down the sides. It's knit with silk beading cord with glass seed beads and lined with a pale green silk taffeta. The fringe at the bottom has 2.5" of beads in each twist. It was cool to do but took rather longer than I expected.
This purse has about 7500 beads in it so it's much lighter than the Elizabethe purse I made out of the same book last year. The finished size is 6"x8".
