atherleisureHere is my year in review. I'll put it behind a cut, but first here's a picture of my favorite dress ever.
January:
1780’s rose wool stays
February:
1780’s shift (no pictures taken)
1780’s robe a la piemontaise
18th century copper silk muff cover
1800’s rose wool pelisse
March:
1907/8 white sweater
April:
1784 cross-stitched garters
1877/92 knitted blue bag
1871 knitted fanchon hood
18th century linen fichu (I don't seem to have any pictures of this, though I think there are some out there. I need to get copies of the pictures from our trip to Williamsburg in May.)
May:
18th century green linen apron (The same goes for this as for my kerchief. I need to get pictures from Williamsburg.)
I stopped sewing at Easter when we began to consider a move from Virginia to Texas. Other than finishing an apron, knitting on my lunch hours or when riding in a car, and a week in July when I was guarding a door at work and free to do as I pleased as long as I didn't desert my post, I didn't do any needlework from Easter until the first weekend in August. We finished remodeling our 1926 house, which I was very sorry to leave. We put almost eight years and lots of thought and money into the house so it was about as perfect as a house can get. I don't regret the move, but I wish we could have kept the house.
I never got very good pictures of the finished house, but the staircase trim was about the last thing we did. There were pictures taken for the listing, but I didn't think to save them at the time and don't know where to find them now.

Once we moved into the new house at the end of September, I got to start sewing again.
October:
1868 green silk dress
1868 knitted corset
Two mermaid costumes
Olaf costume (I still don't have a picture with his hat on. I'll edit the post if I can ever get someone to send me one or I dress him up again.)
November:
Merida costume
Sleeping Beauty costume
1780’s tan wool round gown
Two knit mitten ornaments
December:
Two cross-stitched kitten ornaments
1890’s Pretty Housemaid corset (yet to be photographed)
1880’s combinations
UFO’s as of the New Year (in the order begun):
18th century knitted pinball – hopefully I’ll actually work on this one this year. I started it September 2013 and worked twelve rows before I laid it aside.
1849 stockings – only about a hundred rows left to knit, maybe a bit more, so they’ll be done before too long. I work on these when I’m out and about so they go through spurts.
1871 knitted fanchon – only about forty rows to knit and some assembly. I expect it to be done before the end of the week.
