It has been cold here. I know it's nothing compared to points north, but three solid days without getting above freezing is unusual here. I keep the room upstairs where the sewing machine is closed off so I don't waste a lot of energy heating a room that isn't used much so I haven't wanted to work on my sewing projects this week. Curling up under a wool blanket and cross-stitching is more my speed in this weather. As a result I'm getting close to finishing the 15th page of my "Street Scene" cross-stitch. It's also been good weather for working on the 1919 cape sweater so it is now finished except for the buttons. I'm planning to work on those next weekend.

It's supposed to be back in the 70's by Monday so I'll probably work on my sewing projects some this coming week.

Same. My workroom is nearly as cold as the attic sometimes, because I am not paying to heat a locked unused room TYVM.

My second floor heat is resistive electric heat so I definitely don’t want to pay any more for that than I need to! Yes, the 70’s are predicted for a few days. It’s Texas; temperatures swing all over the place.

Today was forecast for 70F but didn’t quite get there.

I am from that farther north where it's been sub-zero F for almost two weeks and you are so valid for not wanting to heat unused rooms and living under blankets.

I feel so sorry for you having it for so long, though I know you're more used to it than I am. Whenever my mother told me about her trips to Calgary when I was a girl, I was glad I didn't live that far north. It sounds like such a different world.

On the flip side, the days I spent in Texas in 110F weather felt like the end of the world! I know that's not a temperature anyone enjoys but its more "shrug and carry on" the same way our extreme subs are lol.

I lived in Calgary for a few years and live north of it now, I can well imagine what those trips were like :O

Exactly. I find 110F unpleasant but not the end of the world. You find whatever you get unpleasant but not the end of the world. There's a lot to be said for where you grow up.
