I've made progress on my 1826 promenade dress. It just needs a belt and flounces.



I think the flounces will make the padded hem not stick out quite so peculiarly. If not , I'll be redoing the hem with less wool roving stuffed in there.

Then I need to make the pelerine.

Flounces and actually wearing it will help the hem, I think!

Thanks. I think it will be better too. It never hurts to actually have legs fill the space inside the skirt. I could always add an 1830's petticoat if it still seems a bit triangular.

Thanks. The flounces were what attracted me to this fashion plate in the first place.
