Indecision
Feb. 18th, 2024 12:35 pmThere's a Sporting Saturday event in a few weeks. I had been planning to make an 1860's dress for it, partly because I wanted to make one and partly because it would finally give me an excuse to wear an 1860's bonnet I've had for years and never worn. But I'm really enjoying this 1920 tuxedo sweater, and it's moving so quickly that I could quite reasonably finish it in time for the outing...presuming I have enough white wool. I could wear it with my 1918 dress, which would let me wear my Kedwardians for a costume thing instead of just to work. Certainly the 1918 dress would be easier to move about in for whatever we end up doing.
It seems highly improbable that I could finish both in three weeks. I definitely have the materials for the 1860s' dress so there's no risk there. I only might have all the yarn I need for the sweater. A little quick math makes me incline to think I don't. The skirt for the 1860's dress is finished, the sleeves are mostly put together, and the bodice still needs a fair bit of work. Maybe I'll see how far I get on the collar this week and make a decision next weekend. If I have to abandon a few days of cross-stitching to get something done, it won't be the end of the world.
