1930's Benedictine Tunic
Jun. 9th, 2022 06:13 pmI am not crazy about the leggings with waist-length top that seems to be the popular thing right now so I thought I would like to make a long sweater to wear with leggings. I found a pattern for a tunic and skirt in a 1930's pattern book I have and decided to make just the tunic out of the same lovely, soft wool that I used for a different sweater from a different 1930's pattern book I have last year.


The pattern model photograph shows the sweater belted, and I like it that way. I have decided that the sleeves are a little too short for my preference, though they match the pattern image, so I'm wet-blocking them to lengthen them another inch or two. I may end up wet-blocking the patterned section at the bottom of the body too if the sleeve pattern opens up a lot in blocking.
