I listened to the talk on chintz that was posted as part of CoCoVid and was really surprised that they talked about printed cottons as what you think of when you hear chintz and that it took an hour and ten minutes before they mentioned that it is a glazed fabric woven of very fine threads. I would have said the defining thing about chintz is that it is a glazed, finely woven fabric. It's funny how different people think of different things for a given term. (Actually, I always think chintzes as solid fabrics since they're the only things I've ever seen in fabric shops.)
