Last night was the Montgomery County Choral Society's first concert of the season. They had so much fun doing their Disney concert last year that they decided to do another one this year. They encouraged children to come in costume, and my father, who is one of their members, wanted my children to help hand out trinkets to the children who attended. They also encouraged choir members to come in costume or Disney paraphernalia. They wanted people to dress up to mingle with the audience during the dinner before the concert too so I volunteered to dress up as Elizabeth Swan from The Pirates of the Caribbean because she was the only character I could think of for whom I had a costume that would answer reasonably well. I wasn't going to make something new for this when there are more historical events to be sewing for!

So my father dressed as a pirate in my husband's pirate costume, E dressed as Sleeping Beauty, M dressed as Pocahontas, and MT dressed as Shere Khan.

I think everyone had lot of fun. The only downside was that they do the fall concert on a Tuesday so that they don't interfere with football, and we didn't get the children to bed until 9:30. I hope they're not too much of a pain today!

I wore the curtain-along sacque and my new shift. I'm not usually into the ruffle showing around the neckline, but it's the way she wore it in the movie so that's what I did. I also did the single curl down the neck, which I wouldn't have done if she hadn't had one in the movie. Still, I'm very pleased with how my hair came out. Maybe I'm starting to become moderately competent with hair-styling.
