Commercial Patterns
Feb. 21st, 2016 07:48 pmIt would seem that by the latter part of the 1910's, commercial paper patterns were the norm. I spent a couple of hours trolling through sewing books published between 1915 and 1919, and they all assume that you're making garments from paper patterns. They talk about altering them and give instructions for making up, but they don't give drafts. Interesting, though not necessarily useful for me right now.
