Domino

Just sharing a couple of pictures of trim right now, but my domino is finished. I intend to wear it in about a week and a half and get good pictures then.

I am ridiculously proud of this thing. It was weeks of trimming - something above 30 yards of fabric strips turned into trim - but quite worth it.

I am so excited by this project and can't wait to see it finished! I feel like you really need to wear it while holding up a carriage by moonlight.

I'm really looking forward to going to a ball swathed in my black silk incognito. If I didn't wear glasses, I would have made a mask to go with it.

Entertainingly, the historical costuming community is small enough that making such a striking garment has actually made you MORE recognizable!

That's funny. Maybe my incognito will be preserved, though, because I don't think many people know me. I don't have a blog, don't do Instagram, and don't post to Facebook. If they're not on here/LJ, they probably don't know me.
