Jacket Finished

I finished a new 18th century linen jacket last night.



It's more or less modeled on this one but with shorter sleeves.

It went much faster than I expected.  I cut it out Friday night and finished sewing last night.  I hand-sewed the whole thing, but I haven't quite decided whether it was because I was being accurate or lazy.  It's a very hazy line right now.

Wow, you're productive! I saw on Facebook that you also finished your 1890s dress too. They're both beautiful. The peachy colour of this jacket is really lovely and so summery!

I'll admit I've been sewing 2-3 hours at night instead of the usual 1 hour so I have been faster than usual. On the other hand, this 18th century stuff is pretty quick to put together, particularly since I have a base pattern that I don't need to fit for each new garment unless I want to move seam lines.

The lighting leaves something to be desired so the jacket is actually quite yellow; it's about the same color as the gown in my profile picture. Incidentally, it's also about the same color as the stockings I'm knitting.
