Embroidery Finished
Nov. 3rd, 2025 07:07 pmI finished the embroidery on the stocking. I had intended to make it up over the weekend, but I didn't get time. I should be able to do it sometime this week.
I forgot to take a picture before I moved the frame so no picture this week. I finished the band at the top of the stocking and am now outlining. The top half is done. I’d like to finish by the end of the week, but there are a lot of calls on my time so we’ll just see what happens.

Other than the outlining, there's only one color left. I'm hoping to finish the cross-stitching this week and the outlining and making up next week. It's still marching band season so we'll see how much time I get.

Too Much Thread
Sep. 12th, 2025 04:25 pmThe stocking I'm working on has some half-cross stitch with five strands of embroidery floss. Five strands are hard to get through the eye of a needle and hard to pull through the fabric. I'm having to filter in green threads instead of just working an ever-growing solid area like I prefer.
There was a lot of cross-stitching on Labor Day but not so much the rest of the week. It averaged out to good progress.

Starting the last cross-stitched Christmas stocking. I worked on it a lot yesterday so I guess that counts as week one.
Santa's Flight Stocking

I just have one more to do, and then the whole family will have cross-stitched stockings.

It's actually where I left off last night because I forgot to take a picture on Sunday. I didn't work on it on Monday and only did a little outlining last night so it's not far off of where it was Sunday. I spent way more time cross-stitching over the weekend than I probably should have. That being said, the whole sky and most of the reindeer are half-cross-stitch and so go quickly.
