My first finished project of the year, which of course was started in 2023.
I finished the 1910's purse I posted about last week.

I ended up changing my plans a little. I was going to do two rows of knots in the fringe like the inspiration has. I cut the pieces of thread 9" long, thinking that each knot would take about half an inch of length. The knots ended up taking about 1" of length so if I wanted a 3.5" fringe, I had to stop after one row. I was not going to take it all out and cut all new threads, partly because I tied the knots tightly enough that they'd be a pain to untie and partly because I didn't want to waste all the thread. I also was going to make some kind of braid out of the linen thread because I was concerned that the unbleached cotton color of the cord I put on temporarily so I could use it last weekend would be clearly different from the unbleached linen color of everything else. I don't feel like it is obviously different so I'm going to leave the temporary handle as the permanent handle.
