Inspiration
Aug. 10th, 2023 05:25 pmI’ve now been to Costume College four times. Every year people talk about how inspired they are to make things after Costume College, but I’ve never felt that until this year. This time I came away with several things that I want to do. The source of the inspiration is in parentheses.
1. Ruffled corset cover for 1900’s (Edwardian dipped waist treatment class)
2. Simple 1900’s or 1910’s embroidered bag/purse (
koshka_the_cat’s bag)
3. Late Victorian work bag (not having a better bag than my Regency work bag to carry around all weekend)
4. Mid-1700’s boned bodice and petticoat (
mala_14’s gorgeous bodice and petticoat)
5. 1930’s evening dress (
mala_14’s velvet gown and to a lesser extent
koshka_the_cat’s sequined dress and a casual remark about the Queen Mary and 1930’s clothes)
In the run-up to Costume College, I had already added the Wearing History Eloise dress to my list when I saw
marianme make hers this summer.
ETA: I forgot to mention that Jessie Dove’s 1860’s dress also made me rather want another 1860’s dress.
