I wore my early 1930's Eleanor sweater again on Monday and got my husband to take pictures. They're nothing special, but they're proof I made the thing!

Early 1930’s Eleanor sweater

It took almost exactly all the blue wool I had (four balls plus a trifle) and less than half a ball of the coral wool. I made it as given in the pattern except that I used blue plastic buttons instead of knitting stockinette bits of the coral to cover buttons.

It was perfect for a stash-reducing project.

My next stash reduction project will be this wrap: https://www.knitpicks.com/wrought-iron-wrap/p/14734D. It should use up a good deal of the worsted weight yarn I have left from my green cardigan. I'm not sure how it will go yet - summer is fast approaching, and I probably will have to put this down after it gets 12"-18" long. It will just be too hot to want a pile of wool in my lap. It's not going to be a good project for keeping in my desk drawer - too big and too complex - so I went through the yarns I have looking for a good work project.

This is what I've got:
White laceweight yarn suitable for a pair of stockings.
Black laceweight yarn intended for a veil.
Natural Aran weight yarn, some of which I want to use for a beret to match my Aran cardigan.
Various partial balls of colored fingering weight wool.
Blue sportweight yarn that is the rest of the Zouave I started raveling for the 1930's bathing suit.
Coral silk beading cord for a beaded purse.

The veil and beret are too complex for the office. Beads and the office are not compatible. Stockings are not appealing at this moment, though I do have issues of Weldon's Practical Stocking Knitter to browse through where I might find inspiration. It sounds like I need to go trolling for patterns for random small Victorian things again and make more goofy stuff.

In case anyone thinks I'm neglecting my 17th century waistcoat, I'm not. It's my at home knitting project. It's not a good in the car project and absolutely unsuited to the office. I should make the halfway point on the second sleeve this weekend.
