Between the Leaves
Mar. 11th, 2017 07:08 amI borrowed Millinery: Theoretical and Practical from the library a few weeks ago and finally got around to reading it. It was written by Clare Hill, published in 1900, and is available online here.
What you don't get in the online version is what I found in the book. This was between the leaves.

I don't know exactly when it's from, but it refers to the Girl's Own Paper of 1908.
At the back of the book, the owner had pasted this on the first page of a catalog of volumes available from the publishers.

These instructions read a lot like the instructions from earlier Victorian manuals or even the things reprinted in Frances Grimble's 1820's book.
It was pretty entertaining to run across these as I read.
