After thirteen months...
After thirteen months, I've finished my 1868 green silk dress. I put it on to take pictures, though they're not the best because I was using the camera timer and had to do some experimenting to find where to take the pictures.
I love the line of the skirt from the side.

Other pictures and progress behind the cut...
I also got front and back pictures:

Plus I finished my first 1849 stocking last week. It's a little baggier through the ankle than I'd like, but overall it's okay. I even have photographic proof.

Now I'm three rows into the second stocking. I've got a ways to go.
While I was looking for underpinnings, I found my 1864 shawl so I finally got pictures of it on.

No pictures yet, but I finally sewed the buttons on the knitted 1868 corset. I used an 1/8" tape, which was really hard to do. I'll try it on later today and see where I want to go from here.

Just out of curiosity-- did you do anything to protect the fabric on the train? I am such a worrier when I see a train! I have a few with trains in my future, and I have no idea how I'm going to protect the hems.

There's about a 6" hem facing on it per the usual 1860's construction techniques, and that's enough to cover the main fabric.

It came out beautifully! You always look lovely in hoop era fashions :-)
