2016 in Review
This ended up seeming to be a year of little pieces more than full garments, though I did make costumes from the skin out for the 1690's and 1910's. I did a lot of knitting this year. One of my goals for the year was to do better with my hair for events, and I think I succeeded. There were some hairdos that I was very proud of. I got to go to a lot of events in different periods and had some opportunities to wear things that I had never really gotten to wear. One of the best parts was getting to meet a couple of LJ friends in real life in July.
I finally made the Le Baiser dress I had been planning for years.

January:
1936 turreted sweater

February:
1856 knit opera hood

1870 Le Baiser dress

March:
1806 Polish Casquette bonnet

1890’s tucked petticoat with lace

1918 combination undergarment

1916 petticoat

1904 ribbon corset

April:
1910’s corset

1916 ruffled petticoat

May:
1900’s rose wool skirt

18th century brown knitted mitts

1940’s tan twill shorts (not pictured)
mid-19th century shamrock miser’s purse

1916 green silk evening dress

June:
1790’s gold silk bodice and red/gold reticule

1800’s tan petticoat and green-striped short gown

1868 crinoline bustle

8 towel toppers for my aunt (not pictured)
Regency silk organza fichu

July:
Late 17th century knit purse

1690’s/1700’s shift

August:
3 cat suits

1690’s/1700’s brocade stays

1830’s tucked and plain petticoats

mid-19th century shoes dyed

September:
1860 knitted rigolette

October:
1892 knitted Zouave

1690’s/1700’s green/gold mantua

November:
1690’s fontange

19th century pineapple reticule

2 knitted stocking ornaments
December:
cross-stitched kitten Christmas ornament

1846 muffatees

1912 knit vest

UFO’s as of the New Year (in the order begun):
18th century silk organza cap – It’s been cut out, but that’s it.
18th century stockings – The first stocking is up to halfway through the heel flap.
1897 Harper’s Bazar white wool dress – The bodice is mostly made up and trimmed. The sleeves are assembled but not hemmed or trimmed. The skirt needs to be taken apart and lined and the waist reset. This dress will be on hold until I make a couple of 1830’s dresses for San Jacinto.
“Peaceful Evening” cross-stitched Christmas stocking – As of 12/31, I was nearly finished with the cross-stitching. I spent much of the day on it New Year’s Day, and the cross-stitching is finished with the outlining in progress.
18th century flowering branch pinball – It’s been started, but I’m only halfway to the pattern section.
Aran cardigan – I’ve knit about 8” of the back. This will be my priority knitting through the winter even though it's the last thing I started because I know I won’t want to work on it come summer.
