1916 Preview

I've got two pictures as a preview of my 1916 evening dress. I'm going to try to get better ones when I wear it to the theater next month.





I changed the skirt design since my overlay was chiffon rather than net, but other than that I feel I did a reasonable job of imitating the original magazine ad.

This is really lovely! It's a challenging year to do and this is so good. The overskirt is different, but it's perfectly 1916 and better suited for chiffon. And as always, excellent choice of colors. :)

Thank you! It doesn't seem to be a very popular year for costuming so it's hard to find information about it. I seem to be choosing a lot of unpopular periods lately - 1916, 1700, even the 1830's aren't that popular, and that's one of my upcoming projects.
