1868 Evening Bodice

I finished the evening bodice for my 1868 dress. I wound up making a belt to go with it too since otherwise the trim looked a little goofy. I think I have enough fabric that I could make tails to go on the belt, but I'm not decided on them (or excited about them) yet so it will be this way for a bit. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

At the end of my self-timer pictures, my son insisted on taking a picture of me on the stairs, and it turned out surprisingly well. I think it's about my favorite picture, which amuses me, considering his age.

That's beautiful! Green is a wonderful color for you. It's very elegant without the tails, but I think it'll look smart with them too.

Ooh, that's lovely! What did you use for the trim?

It's lovely! Such elegant lines!

Thank you. I love green - maybe because I look well in it! Tails on a belt were sooo popular at that time that I feel like I really ought to do them, but I'm not excited about it so I'm not fussed at present.

Thank you. It's china silk ribbon in 1/4" and 1/2" widths. I starched it first to make it easier to work with.

Wow!! So very pretty!

I love the fact that you did both an evening bodice AND day bodice!

Thank you. It's one of my favorite colors.

Thank you. I love the skirt so much, it needed another bodice. I'm hoping someday I'll get to go to one of these conventions where I can wear the day bodice during the day and switch to the evening one for evening. Unfortunately, CLW doesn't look like it's in the cards this year.

This is so lovely! I'm not sure I saw the skirt/day bodice before, but that trim is great. Not super complicated, but it really does the trick. That's also SUCH a nice color. Pretty pretty pretty. :)

Looks great! It's awesome that you have the day and evening bodices.

Thanks. I like having both bodices.
